Why is giving back important to you?

 

 Giving back is important to me because it helps me stay optimistic about humanity, some of the people you meet in the non-profit sector are incredible and extremely selfless.

How will you shift the culture through your philanthropic endeavors?

 

I believe in leading from the front, I aim to use my actions as an example that you can create changes, especially in nihilistic perceptions about our communities. 

 

 

What is the biggest myth about giving back and volunteering that needs to be debunked?

 

I think the biggest myth about giving back and volunteering is that you may not have something to offer. Showing up and smiling can change someone's day, and that a great start.

What is your organization’s biggest need and how can people support?

 

With Young New Yorkers, we need to raise our profile, the intersection of art and criminal justice has always raised awareness. Our Art auction funds programs that can help change young peoples lives and give them a chance to avoid the school to prison pipeline.
